Flight Centre Travel App
Client: Flight Centre

Flight Booking App and Website

Goal: Amadeus developed Flight Centre’s first e-commerce site, allowing users to book flights quickly and effectively online.  I was tasked to enhance the User Interface on this project. The app initially increased sales by 20%, though Flight Centre subsequently discontinued the platform after re-focusing its strategy on agent bookings.

Flight Grid Feature

Goal:  Improved product card and detailed User Interface to increase bookings and enquiries. The product detail achieved significant success, improving enquires by in the region of 50%. Tested by Flight Centre users.

Client: Flight Centre

Holiday Planner Feature

Goal: To design an interactive widget as an inspirational tool to help narrow down the users’ search for their perfect holiday. The tool was based on a series of simple user-focused questions about their preferred destination, activities and dates. The intention was to create a more human search facility and to move away from a tick box filter. The feature was tested on store customers with a 20% increase in user searches.

Goal: To design the User Interface for online bookings at a high-end chateau near Bordeaux, France, increasing sales and improving brand awareness. The site incorporates a booking.com plug-in.

Goal: A pocket travel solution app mainly to inspire and incite incredible places to travel consequently increase holiday sales. UI and UX approve by stakeholders but project was postponed due to Brexit.

Day to Day Experience

• Ability to translate goals and user research data into user flows with the ultimate result of clean UI.
• Overall responsibility for understanding customer briefs and converting them into beautiful and usable interfaces.
• Worked on numerous end-to-end feature implementations for the Flight Centre website.
•  Created Design Systems for freelance clients and organised an existing one at Flight Centre.
• Comfortable working with Agile teams and developers in Sprints providing prototypes and detailed design specifications.

• Prototyping and Wireframing include:
Axure, Sketch, Adobe Experience Design CC, Figma, Abstract, Principle and Invision Pro.
• Testing tools:
Validately and Optimal Workshop, Session Cam and Hotjar (behaviour analysis), Google A/B testing. User Journeys in Overflow.
• CMS/ code editors include:
Drupal, WCM IBM, WordPress & Webflow
